Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

Specialty Programs

[review] => I recently moved my mother from a facility she had been staying in for past 14 years to Bonifay Health and Rehab to be closer to me and her family. I am beyond overwhelmed with the kindness, compassion and care that the staff has showed my Mother and my family. Everyone is so friendly and willing to assist with my Mothers care and it shows with the difference in my Mother. She tells me almost everyday that she loves her new home and she is so happy. It makes such a big difference when you see your loved one cared for appropriately and it lets me sleep better knowing that I don’t have to worry that she’s not getting the care she needs and deserves.

[review] => I worked here. I do not recommend it for employment or for long term care if your loved ones. The nurses and CNA’s are great but that is where the greatness ends. This business is about the minimum. That is the acceptable goal. Minimum effort, minimum quality of care, minimum the state law allows. Owners and Management are good with that. The care staff suffers and that trickles down to the residents.

[review] => This is the most caring, kind, compassionate team I've ever dealt with. My mother moved here after being in long term care. We were unsure of what to expect but the team of nurses, aids, and therapist were outstanding. They worked diligently with mother to improve her quality of life. When the time came for her to transition, the staff was so considerate. They moved her roommate out. Brought in a extra chairs for us and a hospitality cart with drinks and food so we could be with her around the clock until her time came. They were wonderful to us. I would highly recommend this facility.

[review] => After making preparations to have my Dad sent there, 6 days, as he was being wheeled out for transpiration we were told Bonifay has now decided they can’t take him. Wish you would have told us earlier. You had all his meds before today. Now we have to go through this process again. Imo not a great way to run things. I understand policies but you knew what he was taking….someone dropped the ball. Anyway best wishes for your faculty in the future. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to someone else.

[review] => My mom has been there for several years now, it was great as long as she was able to get around and basically care for herself for the most part. She has had numerous UTIs, been so dehydrated and has lost so much weight from not being fed, and just all around neglected...I am unable to be there every day to make sure she's getting the care she needs, and I shouldn't have to be... but that is the case here. I'm so disappointed with the care she has been getting the last year... I understand it's hard to keep staff, but the residents shouldn't suffer from lack of care because of it. I hate it but, I have to do what's best for her. She will be leaving as soon as I find a better place for her.

[review] => I have been a resident for over 7 years. I came here when I was 49 years old and came from a active life. It was very difficult for me to adjust to this life. I have a small room with a roommate and limited privacy. We do not have options for recreational activity transportation. But we do go to walmart weekly. NOT anymore, covid has caused transportation difficultis, Medical appointments are not a issue. This facility is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen staff trys hard to fill my very picky appetite. The BEST part is the staff. From the admin to maintenance to the skilled, caring nursing here is outstanding. Never in my life have I felt more loved or cared for. I feel blessed to be here. This was written in 2019. Updated, covid has created challeges for everyone on the planet, this nursing home as well. MGMT has done thier best, same MGR from earlier review. They try to maintain a high level of care with a few less employees than before covid, To me, they mostly succeed. I have a small room with a roommate and limited privacy. We do not have options for recreational activity transportation. But we do go to walmart weekly. Medical appointments are not a issue. Rev.A: THINGS HAVE GONE DOWNHILL SINCE MY LAST REVIEW!!! I was never given the rules and regulations of this place before I came in and I was told about the rules after the fact and they took away my nicotine lozenges and now I get them one at a time and I have to request them every hour and a half and I usually don't get them for every 2 hours to 3 hours so it's getting ridiculous!!! [review] => Absolutely the best decision I ever made was to move my mother to this facility. Prior to coming to Bonifay Nursing and Rehab, my mother was in an excellent, top-rated facility in Pensacola. They seemed to be taking great care of her, but she was basically an invalid. Each time I visited, she was in her bed and mainly slept. NOT at Bonifay!! My mother immediately began to show signs of progression, not only in her mental health but in her physical health as well after entering their center. After about a month at Bonifay, I walked in one day to find her sitting in the hall, looking better than I had seen her look in over two years. It was like we had her back again! Her mental health is strong, her outlook bright, and she no longer just lies in bed. They get her up each and every day, and she is out and about with their other patients, living life to the fullest. I cannot say enough about this wonderful facility that gave my mother back to us again! FIVE STARS all the way around. They truly care about patients and families at this facility!
